Taxi to BB IJ from airport or Central Station

Warning about Taxi's. Unfortunately a lot of taxis in amsterdam are swindlers and thieves. When they know you're a tourist they'll charge many times the allowed price or they'll take a detour. Never take a taxi from the taxi stand a central station period. You'll have a high change to get ripped off.

Only take a taxi with a taxi light that looks exactly like the one in the picture below (www.tcataxi.nl). From Amsterdam Central Station you can best take bus 22 ( see instructions below ). If you need to take a taxi you can best walk to one of the hotels opposite Central Station and halt a taxi like in the pictures below or ask at the reception of the hotel to call a TCA taxi or call with your mobile ( phone number +31(0)20-7777777). When you take a Taxi from The Airport you are allowed to pick a Taxi of choice out of the line. You can ask for a flat fee (around 42 euro/ see TCA website, www.tcataxi.nl, for actual rates)

only take a taxi with exactly this taxi light ( www.tcataxi.nl )
