WELCOME TO BBIJ

Welcome to BB IJ, one of Amsterdam's finest historic bed & breakfast, boasting distinctively elegant rooms. BB IJ is a Gentlemen's dike house built on the original IJ, formerly the waterfront of Amsterdam.

BB IJ is situated in the center of Amsterdam along the outer Singel canal. It is a dream location for tourists and businesspersons alike. BB IJ's garden lies along the water, which was the original IJ waterfront to the city.  Just across the canal from the garden, is the only surviving Windmill de Gooyer in the center of Amsterdam which is also a famous brewery ( Brouwerij 't IJ, www.brouwerijhetij.nl ) serving very special Dutch ales. People from all over Holland are coming here to get their special beers. The windmill was built in 1725 and moved to the current location in 1814 (http://www.molendatabase.nl/nederland/molen.php?nummer=636 ).

You are seconds from buses, two tramlines and the Canal Hopper (boat), or better 'go Dutch' and take a bike into the city.   Just within walking distance there is a bike rental. Central Station is a fifteen to twenty-minute walk, and Artis Zoo just five minutes away.

Enjoy sitting or breakfasting in the garden along the canal taking in the spectacular views, or take in some of Amsterdam's best shopping, dining, parks, and historic sights, or just relax in your comfortable private guest room. Geniality awaits you at BB IJ !

Breakfast

A stay at het BB IJ includes a gorgeous European breakfast with dutch cheese,  deli meats, along with jams and Dutch breads.  This is served with juice, milk, with a selection of fine teas and coffee. Muesli, hearty granola, and fresh fruits are also available for a healthy start to the day. Breakfast is selfservice.

Rooms

Each guest room is artfully decorated with fine furnishings, marble and granite floors, comfort-giving amenities, with accents of textures and colors that envelop you in a quiet elegance and rich visual experience. Guest rooms are appointed with a cable TV, fridge, coffee machine, and water cooker. Each room has high-speed internet access. Fax, copy, print, and telephone services are also available upon request. Every room has a private Bathroom with shower and toilet.
